The Director of Volunteer Impact is responsible for managing, monitoring, and leading operations within a country to effectively deliver high-quality volunteer programs within budget and through strong corporate governance.

The Director of Volunteer Impact will work with each Division President to develop innovative programming for each division with clear guidelines, schedules, and work assignments.

Directors will be reviewed on an annual basis for their ability to meet budget expectations, adhere to agreed-upon programming (i.e. maintaining work assignments selected by volunteers), and exceeds quality metrics of volunteers and partner organizations.

Goal 1: To innovate and maintain high-quality and impactful volunteer programming:

In-Country Programming

In collaboration with each Division President, create and adhere to schedules, expectations, and models to operate programming for volunteers.
Meet programmatic elements as outlined in the In-Country Operating Manual, including:
Volunteer Work Assignments
Cultural & Learning Activities
Home-Base Structure & Management
Individual & Group Reflection Sessions
Develop and implement customized programming for groups or individuals in conjunction with the Division President and the Program Manager.

Volunteer Work Assignments

Maintain relationships with and monitor volunteer work assignments with partner organizations, including effectiveness and satisfaction of partner organizations and volunteers
Continuously innovate to develop new or improve existing work assignments based on feedback and program quality metrics with the Program Manager
Ensure placement of volunteers in the specific work assignment they enrolled in at the time of registration

Volunteer Management
Oversee logistics of program site including transportation, adherence and collaboration in creating schedules, Cultural & Learning Activities, and volunteer work assignments.
Orient and train volunteers for a successful volunteer and cultural experience in-country through orientation session in coordination with the Program Manager.
Monitor and track partner organization satisfaction (quality metrics) through evaluation forms

Safety & Security

Meet the Safety & Security guidelines as established in the Safety & Security Manual, including conducting safety & security audits as requested.
Communicate any incidents or crises in-country with the Programs Officer and any other relevant and appropriate staff members as soon as reasonable.


Goal 2: To maintain consistent and clear operations, budgets, and communication standards:

Communication

Clearly and promptly respond to requests and questions from Division Presidents, Program Specialists, and Pure Nomad (central office) staff members. Responses are expected within 2 working days.
Communicate any concerns or changes to the program design or agreed- upon schedule to the relevant Division President as soon as possible.
Market through group and individual outreach to strategic volunteers and partners as identified by the Program Manager or Division President

Budgets

Understand and create clear and understandable fixed and variable costs on a per-volunteer basis as it relates to the needs of each division.
Develop annual budget with fixed and variable costs to operate the program site.
Develop and agree to, at the time of a special or group request, any budget needs to accommodate that group and communicate to the Division President and Pure Nomads.
Adhere to the agreed-upon annual budget, with no overages for unexpected expenses not considered at the time of accepting a group or negotiating the annual budget.

Goal 3: Maintain strong corporate governance for the local entity

Operations & Legal

Maintain legal status within the country of operation, including all required registrations, tax payments, and insurance regulations.
Manage staff, including Human Resources liabilities, with clear structure and role responsibilities
Establish and clearly communicate in-country policies to volunteers and with Division Presidents.
